Jack-o-Cauldron Tea Light

A jack-o-lantern glows through its face. A cauldron lamp glows through its brew. This one does both — a cauldron with a carved face and a disc of domed bubbles resting in the mouth, lit from inside by a flickering LED tea light. Three parts, no hardware, and the whole set prints in under three hours for about a dollar of filament.

Three parts, each with its own 3MF because each one is sliced differently — the body is a normal print, the diffuser cone is vase mode, and the bubbling brew disc runs at 0.08 mm to keep the domes smooth. The STLs are in there too.

What's Included

Three Parts, One Tea Light

Nothing glues and nothing screws. The tea light goes in the pot, the diffuser cone stands over it, and the brew disc drops into the mouth. Add a flickering LED tea light — that is the only thing you need that does not come off the printer.

Cauldron Body
75 × 71 × 58 mm. The carved face and the pot in one part. 1 h 43 m, 22.47 g. Tree supports.
Vase-Mode Cone
57 mm across, 43 mm tall. A single-wall spiral that spreads the tea light so the face lights evenly instead of showing a hot spot. 29 m 38 s, 4.71 g.
Bubbling Brew
60.5 mm across, 6 mm thick. A disc of domed bubbles that sits in the mouth and glows from underneath. Printed at 0.08 mm so the domes stay smooth. 20 m 41 s, 3.62 g.

Print Settings

Slice It Right

Each part has its own 3MF because each one is sliced differently, and that is the whole trick to how this looks lit. The diffuser is not optional — without it the tea light shows as a bright spot behind the face instead of an even glow, which is the lesson the Jack-o-Lantern taught me first.

The body prints at 0.12 mm with 3 walls, 9% gyroid and tree supports on a 5 mm brim. The cone is vase mode: one wall, 0.2 mm layers, no supports. The brew disc drops to 0.08 mm with 2 walls, lightning infill and a concentric top, no supports — the fine layers are what keep the bubble domes from stepping.
